Company History
The Beginning
Our Founder, Mr. Wu Chih-Hsien, started Yuanxun International Co., Ltd., focusing on the research, development, and manufacturing of wind energy, green energy, and automotive products. He later expanded into medical, green energy, and solar industries. By chance, he started producing hearing aids as an OEM for Japan, which inspired him to pursue self-developed manufacturing.
A New Direction
Inspired by Japan's Omron, Mr. Wu recognized the closed-off nature and price manipulation in the hearing aid industry. The inconsistent quality and inflated prices impacted consumers, including his sister, who had suffered from hearing loss since childhood. Determined to make a change, he decided to focus his research on hearing aids, leveraging his decade of OEM experience. He began joint development with Japanese technology companies and received Taiwan's Innovation Invention Award.
Launching Taiwan's Only Domestically Produced Hearing Aids
Mr. Wu established Mimitakara to focus on developing and manufacturing Taiwan's only domestically produced hearing aids. Within a year, the product gained popularity in Taiwan and was successfully exported to Europe and Japan. To prevent price exploitation by middlemen, Mr. Wu also set up the company’s headquarter in Xindian. This means that Mimitakara takes full control over the entire production process, from research and development (R&D) to manufacturing and quality control.
National Expansion
After nearly ten years of growth, Mimitakara became widely beloved, expanding to 53 stores across the country. The product continues to represent the pride of Taiwan's homegrown technology. With an annual production of one million hearing aids, it is the largest hearing aid manufacturing center in Southeast Asia.
International Expansion
Mimitakara hearing aids have grown beyond Taiwan, establishing a strong presence internationally. With continued success, Mimitakara now serves customers across multiple countries – USA, UK, Japan, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam – driving Taiwan's technological innovation in the global hearing aid industry.
A Message from Our Founder
Growing up with a family member who experienced hearing loss, I had the unique opportunity to witness their daily challenges up close. I saw how something as simple as changing hearing aid batteries became a frequent frustration, especially when the cost of replacements started adding up. I couldn’t help but wonder—why couldn’t hearing solutions be more affordable and user-friendly?
In our multilingual household, clear audio wasn’t just important—it was essential. The ability to distinguish subtle pronunciations in different languages was a daily struggle. This sparked my mission: to create high-quality, rechargeable hearing aids that not only deliver superior sound but are also accessible and affordable to all.
Every innovation we develop stems from a deep personal connection to the hearing loss community. Our goal is simple—to make hearing aids that empower people to live fully, without the barriers of price or complexity.
